everyone needs to get out of vancouver and victoria
duncan has a great shelter, last year it was at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
They had four brand new real mattresses, gym mats, everyone gets their own blanket
and pillow, which is stored during the day. At 7am, after breakfast, people are driven to
the Arena, where they can wait in a warm lobby, with phone and washrooms available.
The soup kitchen, The Bread Basket opens 9 AM to 5PM, soup, sandwiches, coffee, and cakes all day.
At 5PM the vans come to drive people back to the shelter, where there is a home made dinner,
movies to watch, chairs to relax in; Also has showers and good security.
To get to Duncan from Victoria, is an 8 dollar bus ride, or 15 dollars by train.
In Courtney, the Salvation Army has a good place, which takes women as well as men.
Victoria is a place to STAY AWAY from. Any thought that it is better to be there because of the
weather, is definitely an illusion. Victoria is extremely dangerous and there are few redeeming
qualitys.

I think bring the olympics here is such a great thing. There is so many people that are going to benefit from this. There is money to be made.
