15 Billion in spending for the Canadian Military

According to the Globe and Mail, Stepehn Harper will announce next week that the government is going to spend 15 Billion over the next 5 years to buy new boats, planes, trucks and helicopters for the army. If we can spend that much money for the army, why we can't we spend the same amount of money on affordable housing?
15 Billion could probably build 100 000 houses, and probably Twice as many apartments/condos. Also, imagine how many jobs that would create?
stephen harper is an idiot with his own agenda...
he doesnt give a fuck about us, in fact he would like to see the poor die off so he can continue his elitist warmongering tactics in peace.
