The Pixies have gotten me through hard times.
Have an album that always comes back to you? No matter how many times you've overplayed it to yourself? When I was in 5th grade I found Pixies' Doolittle. It, along with other albums of theirs have stayed with me ever since, and when I have been in situations where I feel like a stranger to other people...I'm not connecting with a new set of friends, I'm in a new place and time...and haven't moved on.. Pixies has grounded me a little... feel some ego come back (good if you have a lack of it). I also hear deep into the music and the arrangement of it and discover clever gems that are hard to notice, but delight me. So yeah... That's some smart punk in there. Play me "Hey" any day and I'll have at least some peace of mind.
I would love to hear what music people listen to, and why they like it. There are lots of reasons. Do you like the way the music sounds, do you like the meaning, do you like when lyrics make complete sense or do you like lyrics that are mysterious and more open to interpretation? Does music bring about memories? Do you like a song that nobody else likes? :)

---say hi to the homeless-- where is my mind?.....way out in the water.....see it swimmin? always one of my favorite streeet songs.
Tori Amos album-american doll posse is one of my favorite albums of all time
I went to http://www.toriamosmusic.com/music where I could listen to American Doll Posse. I had forgotten that this came out. It is good, there is a lot of substance in it. Not just a three word phrase that repeats forever, like in a lot of other music you find. Let's see.. i listened to "teenage hustling"...has got some nice full strength to it, that's a killer song actually, "digital ghost" is a nice slow rocker, "you can bring your dog" has a pretty fun, catchy, pretty rockin...like a dangerous seductive blues stomp. In "Mr. Bad Man" her voice is so perfect, just playful and all the lines in the tune are really catchy, "girl disappearing" is beautiful. "Almost Rosey" is great too. Yeah, I'm probably understating a bunch, but I can see why you like it.
..."With your feet in the and your head on the ground..try this trick and spin it"
oh i missed "air"
Big Wheel is a good song too.
