Auditions and Interviews for Youth AGED 14 – 24 for the live performance series and documentary video:

The POWER Project

POWER is a new solo, duo and trio performance series accessing new technologies and using documentary film to explore stereotyping, racism, violence, addiction and poverty with culturally diverse at-risk and experiential youth.

MISCELLANEOUS Productions, creators and producers of THE REENA PROJECT / Outcasts & Angels, What You Carry With You…, e-race, MISCELLANEOUS Magazine and Stock Characters: The Cooking Show, will be holding Auditions for Youth aged 14 – 24 years old for our new live solo, duo and trio performance series using new technologies. We will be making a documentary video charting the project. The POWER Project, directed by professionals and offered as a free professional training program to youth will explore themes of stereotyping, racism, violence, addiction and poverty. Rehearsals will be held from January to early June 2009 at the Broadway Youth Resource Centre and performances will be held throughout the City of Vancouver at various events and festivals.

Positions Available:

§ Actors, Performers, Dancers and Rappers (wear shoes and clothes you can dance in!)

§ Singers: prepare one verse and chorus of a

soul, R&B or pop song

§ Youth interested in stage management and/or working with new technologies but not performing will go through an interview

No Experience Necessary!!!

Youth will receive $23,000 worth of professional training, CAP points, cash honorariums, and 2 top performing talents will receive the Jennifer Bishop Harbour Dance Centre Scholarship!
