O.C.A.P.Speaks
On Remembrance Day 2008 there was a vigil to remember over 550 homeless people who have died needlessly in Toronto. O.C.A.P. (The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty) spoke at this event to remind us of the need to continue the struggle for change and to invite us to join a protest to demand more shelters on November 26 at 12 noon at Queen and Sherbourne.

HAHAHAHA!! Thats fucking perfect!! A Vigil to remember all the homeless people who have died!! Wow! To really remember those who were never even known. It seems the life of a drug addict or homeless person is not really valued in this world. Unless of course you are a movie star or model or musician, in which case you are seen as a 'troubled, but cool rebel' ahha. I love this. Excellent.
Fuck, I wish I could be there on the 26th. We def need a federal fund, but how can we get it?
Its ridiculous that there are not enough shelters in Toronto. I wonder if people think that if there are not enough shelters that it will force people to get out and work??? Hahahha.
The good news is that the mainstream media are changing their tune. I've been seeing quite a few articles in the right wing press calling for poverty reduction and more housing recently. When the media starts giving the fucking politicians a little flack, they are forced to do something. Keep your fingers crossed. Be happy and fuck em all.
