Interesting article in the Vancouver Sun today:

VICTORIA - B.C. is lagging behind in economic growth, crime fighting and caring for the province's most vulnerable citizens, a group of Premier Gordon Campbell's handpicked advisers is warning.

In a report released today, the B.C. Progress Board - 18 business executives and academic leaders - for the second year in a row named B.C. the second-worst province in the country on a number of social indicators.

Heres some news items I found interesting today....

British Columbia has the worst child poverty rates in the country for the 4th year in a row! Wow, our politicians really dont give a shit!

"The B.C. Association of Chiefs of Police has unanimously voted to continue to use Tasers" said an article in the Vancouver Province today. Apparently there was "much discussion" on Tasers, said BCACP president Tomlinson, "and it was a unanimous vote that we continue with using the Taser." Even though we have had two deaths and one man in critical condition in the last few months alone Tomlinson said the "device saves lives".
