What if they found out your scar covered secret?
Your blood stained story you hide under your sleeve.
You can't help but slide that blade across your flesh, and watch the blood slowly drip.
That painful, electrifying, wonderful sting that makes you feel alive.
For those times when tears just aren't enough.
Slice until it hurts no more, until all your demons are free.
Now you're left with that scarlet ribbon, draped across your wrist.
Because of that day, when no one would listen, help, care.
So what would you do if they found out your addiction, and used it against you?

Whatever the root of this is I'd say YES you are an artist. Sometimes it can be catharthis. To me me there are two sides to art. One - is the intent. And two - is the reaction of the audience.
