Hate Crimes...

Why? Why do some people harm other people with out a real reason.
Why? Would some want to do that.

Like I got into fights before, but each time I got in trouble, I knew why. I always knew why the fight had irrupted. Or, if someone is after you, you know it, and you know why.
Like for example, if you front a hole lot of dope during the month, and you promise your pusher you gonna pay him, when you get your check. But then on the first, you forget to pay him.
You know he's looking for you. That's part of the game.

But when someone hits on a total stranger, with no other reason than prejudice judgment, well that is sick.

Fights will happen on the streets and shelters, but every fight I got into, and witnessed, and intervened in, guys knew each other, maybe not buy name, but they seen each other before. “Them kind of fights” I like.” I get good laugh, about fights I got into when I'm drinking beer.

You don't want to go loosing it though!

To survive on the streets, I think you got to have a pro-active attitude. “If you're looking strong, people stay off your case”. Then there are less chance that you will fall victim to hate crimes.
Another way is; don't bother people, and people won't bother you.
Or be street smart; when stranded seek help, when under the elements seek shelter.

When you're hungry go to the soup kitchen, and make a friend. You're less likely to fall victim to hate crimes, if you're not alone.
