I started out born and raised in Montreal. Moved to Vancouver Island in my late teens, and discovered the paradise known as Sombrio Beach. Lived there on and off for over 10 years. Raised a son on this island, who recently turned 21. I've spent time working as a volunteer advocate for TAPS, helping people get through the maze of applying for disability benefits. Several years ago I started up a non-profit society whose goal is to fund and administer a project of mine called: The Safe House project. The Safe House is designed to be an alternative solution to having your kids apprehended by the Ministry and placed into foster care. I have a deep love of nature, and feel very concerned about what's happening to our planet.

Welcome to the site! Josef and I are outreach workers in Victoria. We're at Our Place every Thursday, 1 to 3, meeting people, showing them this site, signing them up, etc.
I'm currently making a short documentary about 'Renoviction' and in that capacity I've heard about TAPS. A great organization, for sure. I've tried to interview John Cook, but he doesn't return phone calls... He's busy, I'm sure. Anyway, welcome to HN!
