My name is Davyn Ouimet and I work for an organization called the Western Aboriginal Harm Reduction Society and we are located in Vancouver. I have been with WAHRS for 5 years and have done a lot of presentations and we are opening up a chapter here in Victoria.I am also an ordained minister for the Church of the Universe/House of King Selassie and we are working with WAHRS.I love working with the people of the street becuase they are the ones who need the most support and I know that with the different people doing outreach I know that we can come together and come up with solutions.

I am currently in Salt Spring Island and I am looking to get the WAHRS group for Victoria rerunning as we are in need of a space and members. Hi this is Davyn and I am currently in Vancouver and I was walking down Main and Hasings St and I went down to see my brother Chris.All I see are people who live in the same area for years smoking rock or doing other things besides just smoking marijuana and I wonder if their families know that they are down there spending their money on a high that is no very relaxing and they end up spending more money and time looking for something that just consumes precious time and are they forgotten.

safe injection sites

The reason that the people of Victoria should support
safe injection sites is because it reduces the risk of disease and it also stops people from congregating in the alleys where they are subject to harrassment by the VPD {vicious pack of dogs)
we are seeing that the rate of addiction is very high and we need to help our brothers in their time of struggle.We can offer them support by helping them get to high safely without feeling subjected to harrasment by using.
