Of Songs and Poems
It is a universal known fact that music is loved by every one. With different genres heard over the radio or played on personal music copies via CDs DVDs, and the like, each one has his choice. I thought of sharing my take on songs while I was finishing some research papers for world literature. Let me share with you full letters of the poem “Where Everything is Music” of the famous poet Rumi:
Don't worry about saving these songs!
And if one of our instruments breaks,

Open the window in the center of your chest,
and let the spirits fly in and out.
Personally, I get my system working when I hear familiar lyrics and soothing melodies. I am quite picky with the genre and the word connotations as I believe, as an essay writer, that music serves more as a therapy to individuals. That is why, Norah Jones, Tori Amos, Mishka Adams, Up Dharma Down, and the Beatles always get my ears' clapping. Some may say that love songs give them inspiration, and some may consider songs as just to break monotony. As for me, song lyrics are often seen on wide array of my notebook collections—often offered to a beloved, but without the person knowing directly that it is for him. Now that social networking sites have been in the know, I would sometimes post particular lyrics hoping the message would transcend. Of course, people would comment, some feels the connection and some just curious of whom the piece is dedicated to.
So, as Rumi said, 'do not worry about saving these songs'. They are for us to enjoy.
