Down But Not Out. My homeless experience

2008.10.20 - 4:17 AM

This is a story of 10 years of being pushed by the authorities from under bridges to tents to squats to shacks over and over again. In every case, I was welcomed and helped by the citizens who saw me and no one complained, yet once the authorities found me they destroyed my home and forced me to move on.

Ronzig, Thank you for sharing your story. Your documentation of over ten years of your life on the streets gives everyone some much needed insight as to why the system is contributing to keeping people on the streets. It also shows how for so many people the struggle to live with dignity is impacted by discriminatory city by-laws and police harassment. It is good to hear your story. Hope to more of your perspective on the site.

I'm very glad that your are still a live after all those hard times of living. Also that you are sober now is the greatest things.

I was in danger of death many times too. Since I realised:
I don't play the same game.

I recover myself one day at the time and now that my health is back. I land a hand whenever I can.

So! I'll check every video that you made and I put you on my friends liste

8-) best wich for hope faith and courage !

Glad you like my contribution and very glad to hear you are succeeding in your recovery. Have you ever noticed that those of us who make it are the ones who make an effort to help those who haven't yet? The politicians could learn from us.

Super super kick ass video. I hate the conservative party, I cant believe some of the people closest to me, who know my life on the streets and my problems with addictions, said that I should should be put in jail to be taught a lesson. Think maybe if I would have had help in the first place it may not have escalated to HCV infection (now cured!!). And I know there are millions out there who have the same problem in varying degrees, and they should not be shunned from society, but rather, allowed to find their way without dsicrimination and with the resources they need at their own pace. People just dont fucking understand.

Excellent video. I'll go check out your synthasite. Thanks.

Your story is such an eye opener! I agree; if the general public knew how homeless people were treated, they would be disgusted and outraged. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!! It roused a helping spirit in me!
