a little point on gentrification...blood alley is actually becoming a 'hot spot' as a new restaurant called Salt just opened in the area, the front door opens into blood alley. people walk by the rats, garbage and sometimes people living in that alley to pay alot of money for a 'tasting' bar of fancy cheese, meat and wine.
