Being Homeless does not mean being less educated!
Being Homeless does not mean being less educated, on the contrary, many of those you may assume to be less educated who currently live or lived on the street in there past has nothing to do with a lack of education. It has everything to do with a social system that waits and collects stats and data (numbers), then crunches them to find out where the problem is....we already know where the problem is....there is NOT enough resources to assist those in need!
Trying to find the information that you require when you are on the street is another HUGE problem....the social system makes everything SO complicated that even the Social Workers, Intervenant(e)s & other social resources have a hard time keeping up with the system.
Sending the homeless here, there & everywhere for this & that...if the social system itself was less of a mess then maybe we would be able to help those in need in a more timely manner!
I have met many men & women with University Degrees, Masters, Doctorates...with more education then the people that are supposed to be the ones helping them...and yet still society chooses to judge rather then to look at the bigger picture.
Yes homelessness is a huge problem not just i Montreal but throughout Canada...but the bigger question is why?! And what is the Government waiting for to instill a program that makes sense and that actually works?!
How do you think the Government should proceed?!
Yes it is a big mandat, but the longer we wait, with poverty increasing, we are in a phase whereby the numbres will only increase and there is no longer a middle class.
I for one am not willing to stand with my arms crossed and watch our nation head on a downward spiral into oblivion.
I am currently taking initiative on a project that will hopefully make a difference, I will let you know what happens!
Sincerely,
Tiara ;)

I appreciate you acknowledging education amongst people without housing. I think that the best education is free.

.
- there are too many people on the planet?
- housing and rentals are not affordable?
- my mind thinks up huge problems when all I really need to do is breathe.

.
- the government is waiting? I think that the Canadian government instills a toxic cycle of work: military and police recruitment, and houseless tar sands mcjobs; see the advertising at the bottom of job site web page

We need to stop shoulding on ourselves. I think that the government is illigitimate. I am proceeding with... feeling my feelings fully, breathing, feeling grounded, seeking out like-minded people, taking the lead, looking into where my water comes from, growing a garden, seeking shelter, and asking for help.
