La Maison du père (men's shelter)
"La Maison du père" translates to "The House of The Father", and is a shelter for homeless men aged 25+, run by a branch of the Catholic church known as the Trinitarians. It is worthy to note that, despite the house's religious disposition, no attempt is made to inculcate anyone with religious ideologies of any kind. Our mission is to help.
La Maison du père offers shelter, a clean bed, good food, counseling services, and a change of clothes for those in need. $1 is asked of each person, and arrangements can be, and are, made.
The shelter doors open at 3PM every day. We have a 150-man capacity, and we're nearly always full. Newcomers are always welcomed, and are admitted first.
Upon entering, the men shower and can receive a change of clothes. We offer good, healthy (filling!) food and a clean bed. Counseling services are available to everyone, at any time during their stay. Breakfast is served the following morning.
Our team of counselors is available 24 hrs a day.
We offer help with:
Overcoming addiction,
Securing affordable housing,
Contacting family members & friends,
Securing gainful employment,
Acquiring life skills,
Acquiring job training,
And anything else you might need a helping hand with.
