Into the Fray

Into the fray we step,
lightly on our paths
times heavy as mammoth pillars
upon this gift we call home.
Other times out there
our footsteps neither silent
nor sounded
blend in slightly more.
Like silent ghosts
oddities and rarities
we slave to survive
yet are invisible to the eyes
of strangers among us
mothers, sisters, brothers
and fathers
those who now don't know us
let the wind carry home
all doubts you are alone
I heard your prayers children
now we're home.
