Homeless Nation Fundraising Campaign
Ever wondered what you can do to help the homeless community in your town, city or country? www.homelessnation.org is already making a difference in people's lives - now it's your turn.
Living on the edge, on the streets, in shelters, anyplace but your own place makes it is difficult to stay connected to friends, families and to access the support you need. Homeless Nation helps people connect with each other and access community resources.
We want to keep providing this unique and much needed service across Canada. As membership increases so must the services we provide. We are presently fundraising to be able to include more health services, legal affairs, housing support, and better media education tools.
Times are tough and we need your help now more than ever before. In this econmic downturn the number of homeless Canadians continues to grow. Every dollar raised goes directly into our programs. You can BE the difference!
How your donations make a difference
HN provides front-line outreach in several key cities across Canada, and in order to maintain our operations on the street - and online - we desperately need your help!
Every dollar we raise feeds directly back into our programs.
Here is who, and what, your money will support:
Honorariums
HN provides small stipends to workshop participants. A few dollars can make a world of difference when you have nothing.
Janelle – Vancouver Outreach Co-ordinator
Janelle has a wealth of experience working with homeless communities. She has worked for over a decade in Canada’s poorest neighbourhood, Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, and is highly respected by community groups and those living on the street.
Flipcams
These easy-to-use video cameras are cheap and portable. We loan them out to members so they can document their lives, share their successes, their struggles, and express themselves to friends, family and the greater community.
The Website
The website is our base of operations. It has almost 5000 registered members and receives thousands of visitors. Along with blogs, videos, HN News, the HN Radio podcast and event announcements, there is also an extensive resource section that helps people find food shelter, medical, legal and social services. HN also has a missing person section which has helped people locate their loved ones.

A great big thank you to everyone who's donated!
It's only with your support that we can keep this website online.
Greetings,
Are you familiar with the creepy Dragon Den's program on CBC?
I have no TV, so I don't know much about it, but if you have a proposal on housings, etc. , you may want to attend an audition and take the opportunity to be on a national television and get chosen as a fave thus be eligible for 75,000 CND from the organizers, :) !
Best wishes,
Samantha
Great thanks to those who donated!
